OUTDOOR GAME PALANT SIMPLE FAMILY VERSION. A somewhat forgotten Polish game, probably invented in the 16th century during the reign of Sigismund III Vasa. Many mistakenly believe that palant is derived from baseball. It is completely the other way around. In this simple movement game participated representatives of all social classes. The rules of palant are very simple. The playing field is divided into two zones "heaven" and "hell". In "heaven" stands the player whose task is to toss the ball to himself and hit it with a bat at least beyond the starting line (into "hell"). After hitting, he runs to the next bases, and if he passes the fourth base, he scores a point. The task of the opposing team is to throw the ball across the starting line as quickly as possible or to hit the runner to eliminate him.
