Weather Machine Game (UK)
Weather Machine is an advanced board game designed by Vital Lacerda (On Mars, Kanban EV) in which players take on the roles of scientists trying to improve the performance of a weather generator created by the brilliant Professor Lativa. The generator was designed to maintain the perfect weather in the world - farms sometimes need rain, and resorts should always have sunshine. However, it turned out to be an imperfect machine - its operation disturbs the weather in other places in the world. The goal of scientists is to conduct experiments and research on the weather, publish scientific papers that will improve the machine, and maybe even receive the Nobel Prize for it. As in the previous games of the duo Vital Lacerda and Ian O'Toole, here you will also come across an artistic work of art. A large colorful board, dozens of custom robot meeples, and wooden book tokens, which replaced the usual cardboard tokens.
Your Studios
The gameplay of Weather Machine consists of a series of rounds, and each of them is divided into 3 phases: Player Turns, Weather Generator Activation, and End of Round. The Workshop (player board) is your command field, consisting of several main areas. In the Workshop on the right, you will store Robots and Chemicals, as well as build new prototypes using Machine Parts. On the other hand, the Permissions tracks in the middle, such as Research, Development and Science, are your resources and allow you to perform individual actions.
Testing site
The game board consists of 4 main Locations, and each of them offers many actions to perform. In the Supply area, you will be able to build new Robots, expand your Workshop or obtain Chemicals. The government will allow you to sell a Part of the Machine or secure Grants. In the Laboratory, you will prepare an Experiment and publish the results of your Research, while in the area of Research and Development, you will make a Breakthrough, i.e. construct a prototype based on your Research, for which you will also receive points and rewards. To perform an action, you need to place your Scientist meepel on it and issue certain Permits.
End of the game
The game will end if one of the four conditions is met: one of you receives the Nobel Prize, the last tile of the Experiment is placed on the exhibit, the Government Generator is completed, or all Research slots in the Research and Development Location are occupied. To determine the winner, add to your current point count: the number of points according to the final positions of the markers on the Grant tracks, 5 points for each completed Goal tile and 5 points for the Nobel Prize won. The player with the most Climate Points will do the most service to our planet and win!
Saboteur Upgrade Pack
Kydarkovia Inc. intends to destroy Lightning Technologies! They sent their two best economic spies, known as Agent White and Agent Pink, to steal information and thwart Lativ's work. Their task is to discredit him in front of the Government and ensure that Kydarkovia receives a contract related to weather control in the future. Unfortunately, corporate security is too busy cleaning up the mess caused by Lativa's experiments. Therefore, you must finish your job while being exposed to interference from nefarious saboteurs.
