Mephisto is a gigantic worm, a unique synthesis of flesh and steel, which poses a threat even to well-armed expeditionary forces. The contaminated crater tempts as a shortcut and a source of resources, but all too often it becomes a graveyard for newcomers. Entering the territory of the monster means fighting by its rules, with a swarm of traps and ambushes long waiting for a victim. It's like fighting an entire army, not a single being!
Mephisto, designed by Michał Herda, is already the fourth army pack. If you are wondering what an army designed by a person who created Hexogłówki might look like, then Mephisto is the answer for you.
In the case of Mephisto, the entire burden of this army's offensive is borne by its staff. Like in the case of the Dancer army, it has the ability to attack the opponent's staff, but in the entire army, there is not a single unit that could assist him in this.
The additional strength and effectiveness of the staff's attack is ensured in the Mephisto army by the Implants. Implants are a new type of unit that allows Mephisto to gain additional power, initiative, and sometimes extra actions that can be performed on the board. The Transmitter Implant allows for the execution of the Castling action, the Tail implant will push back the opponent's units. With the Jaw Implant, we can even trigger a battle without having a battle token in hand.
How strong can Mephisto be? Laying down all the Claw implants on the board will allow Mephisto to attack with a monstrous strength of 5, and that is still not the limit of his capabilities. Such enormous power combined with the implants placed on the board, practically devoid of defensive options, creates entirely new situations and forces the player to adopt a new approach to strategy.
