R.M.S. Titanic - a British transatlantic liner of the Olympic type, belonging to the White Star Line.
During its maiden voyage from Southampton to New York via Cherbourg and Queenstown, it collided with an iceberg on April 14, 1912, and sank.
Its disaster led to the revision of maritime laws and safety regulations.
