Offer's description
ESG is a thermally toughened single-pane safety glass (ESG) according to EN 12150. In the so-called toughening process, the glass is heated to temperatures above the transformation temperature and then suddenly cooled. The surface cools faster than the core. A tensile stress is created in the core and a compressive stress in the surface. When producing toughened safety glass, all processing (edge processing, drilling, cut-outs, etc.) must therefore be carried out before the tempering process, as subsequent processing is not possible. Processing of toughened glass would lead to breakage of the pane (fracture pattern: small crumbly fragments). The mandatory and permanent marking (tempered) is usually affixed in the corner area of rectangular panes
